Kai Minosh Pyle graduated with a B.A. in First Nations Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay in 2016. They received their doctorate in 2021 from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Their dissertation, “Folks Like Us: Anishinaabe Two-Spirit Memory and Kinship Across Space and Time,” focused on Anishinaabe Two-Spirit memory-making through the lenses of language, history, and literature. Currently they are working on a history of Métis gender diversity and Two-Spiritness from the birth of the Métis Nation to the present.
